Abstract
Stigma and the stigma process of violent behavior and anxiety of people with mental health problems (ODGJ) are often reported. The aim of this research is to understand the violent behavior of ODGJ and the impact of stigma on ODGJ's violent behavior, as well as to examine the fears of ODGJ and the fears of other people towards ODGJ. This research used the Charmaz Constructivist Grounded Theo (CCGT) method with 30 patients and nurses who worked in a hospital. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews, document review, memos and field notes, and analyzed through descriptive analysis. Two main themes emerged from this research, namely (a) theories based on violent behavior, and (b) anxiety behavior. Research results show that patients engage in violent behavior involving themselves, their families, their communities, and health workers. Violence is also experienced by those who suffer at the hands of others. As a result of this stigma, the affected person and other people fear the affected person. The impact of stigma is manifested in violent behavior and fear towards affected people, their families and society.
